Specialist in Body Percussion
Hello, I’m Ignasi Corella, a specialist in body percussion and psychomotor pedagogy through rhythm. For over 20 years, I’ve been helping individuals and teams connect with the body, rhythm, and movement through immersive, educational, and participative activities.
I have devoted a large part of my life to music. I trained at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude in Performance Major, and I have had the privilege of playing with groups as diverse as Say When, Order of the Artists (in Boston), the Symphony Orchestra of Sant Cugat, and the Lleidart Ensemble, among many others.
For more than 15 years, I taught drums, body percussion, and classical percussion at the private Conservatory L’Intèrpret. I have also published books on learning the drums.
I directed the Festival Planeta Bateria for 11 years, in which I brought together over 300 drummers from all over Catalonia, organizing different activities such as masterclasses, exhibitions of traditional Japanese percussion, Taiko, and African percussion, in addition to large drum concerts in three parts (three different scores that create melodies and polyrhythms when played together).
Activities for Institutions / Centers
Beyond my musical career, I have developed proposals for schools, high schools, professional training centers, and companies that want to improve the cohesion, communication, and vitality of their teams through rhythm and conscious movement.
Two of the activities I offer –Ritme Vital and Making Decisions with Rhythm – have been selected in the 2024 and 2025 Collection of Activities respectively by the Barcelona Provincial Council (Diputació de Barcelona), an honour that enables me to reach more town councils and public institutions
Recently, I trained in the Taketina® method in Vienna, with its creator, Reinhard Flatischler, further deepening my understanding of rhythm as a transformative tool for people and organizations.
